8-Day Kruger & Gonarezhou Stay ( 1,250)

Option 1:
Spend 7 nights in chalets, with daily drives into the parks (around 70 km per day)

Option 2: Also available as a self-drive with camping in roof top tents ( 1050)

Option 3: A guided vehicle in tented/chalet rooms for an additional 100 per day (two Pax per vehicle)

Day 1:

Overnight Punda Maria or Pafuri camp, Kruger National Park – a 550 km drive from the departure city, Pretoria.

Days 2-3:

Begin with a short 70 km drive from Pafuri to Sango. Cross the border into Zimbabwe whilst making our way to Gonarezhou National Park. Drive another 40km and stay at Mabalauta Rest Camp in a Mananga village on the banks of the Mwenezi river for the first two nights.

A Mananga camp is a replicated Shangani cultural village featuring two-bedded huts, a central kitchen and ablution block. A true African experience!

Day 4:

Spend a night at Guluweni on a platform in the middle of the Gonarezhou park. A certain highlight where one will experience the bustling bush nightlife and activities whilst sleeping under the stars!

Start the next day with a sighting of the iconic Chilojo Cliffs.

Days 5-6:

Spend 2 nights in a tented camp on the Runde river. This is close to the Save and Runde river confluence, which is a unique sighting and also the lowest point in Zimbabwe.

*Day 7:

Option to go north 550 km to Hwange National Park to Jozibanini Lodge in the deep south west of the park to extend the tour or drive 200 km south to spend the last night at Kuduland Nottingham Estate 47 km from Beit Bridge. The camp is covered by a parasol of fever trees and is situated on the banks on the Limpopo river, which is the border between Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Day 8:

Return to Pretoria through the Beit Bridge border post, with a 500 km drive on good roads in South Africa.

Tip: One can prolong this tour and visit Hwange National Park, on Day 7 drive to Jozibanini, for a real, untamed wilderness experience in a very remote location. This rustic camp operated by Imvelo Safari Lodges caters for those with an adventurous spirit. Activities include mountain bike safaris, game drives, walking safaris and the unique ‘Look-up’ underground hide, to see the famous Hwange elephants. Here one will stay for 3 nights Full Board. The road to Jozibanini is a challenging 4×4 route through the Kalahari Sands.

One can return to Kuduland Nottingham Estate at Beit Bridge after the 3 nights at Jozibanini Lodge – or if you want to experience more of Hwange National Park – stay for another 2 nights at Kapula lodge, centrally located within the park. The famous Masuna dam is 3 km from Kapula Lodge and is famous for excellent game sightings, from herds of elephant to buffalo, lion, leopard, hyena and cheetah to name a few. Adventure Africa Tours will cater for this camp. One can return after 5 days in Hwange, to Kuduland Nottingham Estate and the next day to Pretoria to return the rental vehicles, or extend the tour to Victoria Falls.

Stay 2 nights at Victoria Falls at Shearwater Village or Lokhuthula Lodges or Victoria Falls Safari lodge. Activities in Victoria Falls (after having seen the famous Falls) are whitewater rafting, abseiling, bungy jumping and sunset cruises on the mighty Zambesi River. Victoria Falls is 750 km from Beit Bridge and we recommend spending the night at Kuduland Nottingham Estate and drive to Pretoria the next day to return the rental vehicles.
